Idea No 4 - The creation of the world

The creation of the world is something I wanted to do for a while. Inspired and driven by my past experience on this course, I would like to push myself further and produce 6 textile pieces that presents the 6 days of creation.

Using the biblical text in Hebrew, as this is my origin and adding the text in English as well for the audience. As a young child in Israel we start listening to biblical stories from a very young age regardless our beliefs. They are simply stories, but they are a great part of our heritage.

My idea is to use different colours and patterns to create 6 pieces about 40cm by 40cm each using different fabrics and layouts. It is more of sculpting with fabric because the 3D effect is a major attribute to the piece. Another thing that is important will be choosing the right material. Some of the layers should be see-through while other should be heavier and controlling the background. Landscapes and depths, perspectives etc. although I plan on creating an abstract piece, I am hoping that whoever looking at this will be able to tell immediately what the subject of the piece is.

I am hoping to use beads and shiny elements and combining them into my work. Still there is a lot to consider but I am hoping to deliver and idea of heavenly experience. I am looking forwards to work on this piece, even if it will not be for the purpose of the FMP, I have no doubt I will execute it sooner or later. This is the one idea I am truly passionate about.
